Privacy Policy

Your privacy

Effective October 14, 2026

This policy covers two things: the Kinvox website, where churches design and request an app, and the church apps we build and run for churches (“church apps”). If you use your church’s app, the parts about church apps are the ones for you.

The short version

  • We never sell your information, and there are no ads or ad tracking in church apps.
  • We collect what the app needs to work — your account, what you post, and your notification settings.
  • Your church’s leaders can see what you share with the church, including private prayer requests.
  • You can delete your account yourself, from your profile in the app.
  • Church apps are for people 13 and older.

Who is responsible

Kinvox is operated by Wortham Innovations LLC, a Connecticut company. We build and host each church app on behalf of that church. The church decides who can join its app, who its leaders are, and what gets posted; we run the technology that makes it work. Questions about how a particular church uses its app are best asked of that church — anything else, ask us at hello@kinvox.app.

What church apps collect

  • Your account: your name, email address or phone number, and a profile photo if you add one. You can sign in with email, Apple, Google, or your phone number.
  • What you share: community posts, ministry group messages and the photos or files you attach, prayer requests, event RSVPs and sign-ups, your faith-journey progress, and trivia scores.
  • Your device: a push notification token, so your church can send you notifications, and your device type. If you choose a photo or file to share, the app asks permission to open your photo library or files — it only reads what you pick.
  • Safety records: people you’ve blocked, content you or others have reported, and any restrictions a church admin has placed on an account.

Church apps do not use advertising, ad tracking, or third-party analytics, and they don’t collect your location or contacts.

Who can see what you share

  • Community posts and public prayer requests are visible to members of your church’s app.
  • Ministry group messages are visible to that group’s members and your church’s leaders.
  • Private prayer requests are visible to you and your church’s leaders — not to other members.
  • Your contact details (email or phone) are visible to your church’s leaders and admins, so they can reach you.

Prayer requests can include things about your faith and health. Share what you’re comfortable with your church leaders seeing.

What the website collects

  • When you design a preview: your church name, colors, and logo stay in your own browser until you choose to send them to us.
  • When you send us your preview or join the waitlist: your name, email, church name, your role at the church, approximate Sunday attendance, your design and logo, any message you include, and which outreach link brought you to us. We use this to contact you about an app for your church.
  • Site usage: we use Vercel Analytics to count visits and pages viewed in aggregate. It doesn’t use cookies or build a profile of you.
  • Our ads: we advertise on Facebook and Instagram and use the Meta Pixel on the public pages of this website to see which ads lead to a church requesting an app. It sets cookies and tells Meta which pages you visit here and whether you sent us a request — but not your name, email, or anything you typed into the form. Meta’s use of that information is governed by its own privacy policy, and you can limit it in your Facebook ad preferences or by blocking cookies in your browser. The Pixel is never used in church apps or on our team’s admin pages.

How we use it

To run the app and the website, send the notifications and emails you or your church ask for, keep the community safe (reviewing reports, enforcing blocks and bans), answer support requests, and fix problems. We don’t sell information or share it with other churches. Nothing from church apps is used for advertising; the only advertising measurement is the Meta Pixel on our own website, described above.

Services we rely on

We share information only with the companies that help us run the service, and only what each needs:

  • Google Firebase — sign-in, database, file storage, and servers that run the app.
  • Apple and Google — delivering push notifications and app downloads, and sign-in if you choose Apple or Google.
  • Expo — sending push notifications to your device.
  • YouTube — showing your church’s sermon videos. YouTube’s own privacy policy applies when you watch.
  • Resend — sending email, such as confirmations and church invitations.
  • Vercel — hosting the website.
  • Meta — measuring our Facebook and Instagram ads, on the public website only.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety. If Kinvox is ever sold or merged, this information would transfer under the same promises made here.

Children

Church apps are for people 13 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email hello@kinvox.app and we’ll delete it.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

  • Delete your account any time from your profile in the app. That removes your account and profile. Posts and messages you shared with the church may remain — email us and we’ll remove them too.
  • If your church stops using Kinvox, its app stops working at the end of its last paid month. The church can ask for a copy of its data for 30 days; after that, the church’s data is deleted.
  • Website requests from churches are kept while we’re in touch and for our records of who we’ve worked with. Ask and we’ll delete yours.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it — email hello@kinvox.app from the address on your account, or tell us which church app you use. You can turn notifications off in your phone’s settings at any time.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit, and access rules limit each person to what their role allows. No system is perfectly secure, but if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we’ll tell your church and you as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update the date at the top when this policy changes. If a change affects how we use information already collected, we’ll tell churches by email before it takes effect.
